After looking for a place to place The Pool, I found Laurent's suggestion of a K&M 28075 stand to be the best solution. But everything in my studio is on wheels, so this stand needed to be adapted as well.
STL file for printing is here: http://data.bodyia.cz/kmholder2.stl. Just slide it (forcefully) into the legs of the stand after removing rubber ends. The suitable screw are M8x60, the castors something from your favorite hobby market.

Yes, totally understood. But as a "wet dream" it works perfectly:)

I'm really interested to know if there is something like an expander planned for The Pool, I feel like I've read that in some preliminary material.
Maybe a 2U, 3U rack where there would be voiceboards, no controls or displays. The whole thing would be controlled from a connected big The Pool, which would also distribute the voices.
The bottom line is to be able to play 8voices in 4V mode, or have the same sound in a layer in 8V mode, maybe just slightly detuned...
Really keen to buy one or even more:)

Quote from: chrisp on January 05, 2025, 05:34:36 PMMany thanks Bodyia,
Is it possible to describe how you are connected to your computer, recording interface and Pool?
Hi chrisp, for testing The Pool was connected only via MIDI, interface MOTU 1248 AVB.
But anyway with firmware 1.54 this issue is no more issue and my post not valid:) Many thanks to Laurent for exceptional support and fast solution.

--solved with fw 1.54---

Hey everyone,
just before Christmas Laurent sent me The Pool, so the schedule over Christmas break was clearly defined:)
I enjoy the colourfulness that The Pool provides, the combination of VCO and digital sources is nicely matched, even the two filters get along well. Unique and complex (maybe a bit too much:) engine and I enjoy playing on The Pool.

But over time I started to find that something in the sound bothered me. I did a few tests and for example simple deep pads have some extra zing in them every time and The Pool cant be used this way. I found out that there is a weak buzz of about 3kHz attached to each tone, it sounds a bit like digital control projecting into the audio. And even stranger, it's pretty ok on voicecard 1, much stronger on the other three. You can see this clearly in the prinscreens from the analyzer in Logic in test files below.

Have any of you also noticed something similar? My Pool is version 1.2 and runs on fw 1.5 (I tried downgrading to 1.32, but it behaves the same).

Here's the first test: http://data.bodyia.cz/pool_test1.zip , there are audio, printcreens and The Pool sound preset to try it out. It's mainly noticeable on the lower notes, C0 or lower. This test is VCO only. The second test http://data.bodyia.cz/pool_test2.zip is the A2D oscillator, similar content, audible around C1, C0.

The second thing are the strange dropouts in the signal, especially in poly4 mode. Kind of crackling or not synchro clock. That's test3 http://data.bodyia.cz/pool_test3.zip and its preset. I thought at first it was the sample player doing it, some loop, but no. Even when you pull the digital oscillators down to zero in the preset and just play the VCO, the crackle in the signal changes depending on which digital mode is selected.

It would be great if someone could give it a try and share an opinion.

Thanks and happy new year:)

(and not to sound like I'm trashing Laurent's work - definitely not, I really appreciate what he's achieved with The Pool and The River and I'm a big fan)
