Been busy, forgot to report back. I tried to have the B3 send CCs to the LXR-02 to update settings realtime while playing rhythms. Lets just say the LXR does not like large amounts of incoming CCs at the same time. I had some very creative errors resulting in destroyed patches most of the time. My conclusion is that the LXR is running at the limit of what the CPU can handle, I should not push it. So it goes :-)

Fair, it would get a tad confusing perhaps.
Finally got the time to try out the new firmware, it works great. I really like the extra GAP and XOR modes, you can get some great rhythms going. Now going to see what I can do with controlling my LXR-2, watch this space :-)

Is it possible to use the sensor X and Y to influence the E.STEPS and E.HITS of the sequence? I was really hoping to be able to dynamically change those so I can make more complex 'live' rhythms.

Agreed, the hand leaving sensor range is probably a better reset moment. Having the 16/32/64 etc setting could be usefull if you do want a 'forced resync' once in a while, but if it is one of the two your method wins.
If possible, do have that reset after X ticks setting, but add a null value for reset on hand leaving visibility range :-)

Euclidean rhythm generation.
If we could use sensors to set the total steps and 'active' steps for Euclidean rhythm generatiom that would be pretty cool. Rhythm resets to step 1 after 16/32/64/128 whatever, can be set in the gui.

For example
X1 = active steps
Y1 = total steps
Z1 = sequence

Thia could allow you to make some intricate rhythms on the fly. If you then set the 2nd sensor for some stuff like filter cutoff, wave etc... you can make a funky *ss drum machine type thing :-)

You say "This version also fixes several bugs and significantly improves the quality of the X and Y information from each sensor". I have been having some latency issues, the B3 seems slow to pick up changes in hand position/triggering notes. Will this help with that?
