This post was initialy on Gearslutz ;)

Regarding the loading of bills of exchange, my logic is not understood. I will try here to explain it a little better than in the manual.

We agree, there is only one triko in The River. So it has to be shared. The sounds are recorded with The Triko's current settings. The multis are also recorded with The Triko's current settings. If I'm working on a simple configuration, an 8 voices synth, I load the sounds preferably with the right encoder which reminds the sound and its adapted triko settings. It's simple. If I want to assign another Triko setting to the current sound, I select in the banks FX01 and FX02 the setting that goes well. In this case right and left encoder have the same function: They load The Triko settings without change the sound.

I cannot load ONLY The Triko settings of a sound in banks 1 to 8. If this is what I want, I have to do it the other way around, load the sound that has the right settings of The Triko with the right encoder, then load after the desired sound with the left encoder which will preserve the settings of The Triko.

I now want to listen to all the sounds without Triko. I first load the FX02 / 20 = Bypass then I load the sounds (Bank 1 to 8, patch 1..20 ) one by one with a press on the left encoder. In this case, the settings of The Triko are not changed. But you have to adjust the global level of the voices to avoid clipping . (Shift + Encoder 1, Level page is active) . This is a simple way to listen to all the sounds without any effect. Isn't it?

Now when I'm working on a Multi, I've tweaked The Triko's settings for a sound atmosphere shared by all the sounds. The ergonomics of The Triko were not great, I suffered and I don't want to lose my great setting. I want to change the sound of the synth 3 (channel 3), the bass, without losing this great setting of The Triko. So I'm going to select channel 3, load the bass sound with the left encoder and my Triko setting will be preserved.

Thanks Laurent, I saw this on Gearslutz too, and it was good information for me.
I still hadn't realized the thinking of the FX01 and FX02 banks.
Now it make sense and helps the programming of sounds a lot! :)

This is indeed helpful information.

I had already figured out most if it on my own, with the exception of using the FX02/20=Bypass as a means of auditioning patches without FX.

I’ve only been using Bypass when tracking with external FX, having noticed a slight increase in gain, giving me a better signal/noise ratio when recording.
