Experiments with different types of chorus-style reverb using the Kobéh (Behringer Kobol) and the SteamPipe (Erica Synth). This is a direct signal without reverb, of course—just The 3FX with two BYPASS switches in the middle to clearly hear the effect of The 3FX.

Par NRPN, tous les paramètres de The 3FX sont accessibles avec la résolution native de la commande. Pour les CC, seuls les « plus importants » le sont.
Pour des besoins spécifiques non pris en charge, n'hésitez pas à poser vos questions dans ce sujet.

This is a known macOS Sequoia issue — for unsigned VST3 plugins, the "Open Anyway" button is unreliable because it's the host (Ableton) that loads the plugin, not you opening it directly. The fix is to remove the quarantine flag manually. Don't worry, it's normaly easy.
1. Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities → Terminal, or Cmd+Space and type "Terminal").
2. Copy-paste the line below that matches where you installed the plugin, then press Enter:
If installed system-wide (most common, /Library/...):
sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/BALORANThe3FX.vst3
If installed for your user only (~/Library/...):
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/BALORANThe3FX.vst3
The sudo version will ask for your Mac password (you won't see characters as you type — that's normal).
3. Quit Ableton completely, reopen it, and rescan plugins (Preferences → Plug-Ins → Rescan, or hold Option while clicking Rescan to force a full scan). The security popup should not reappear and the plugin will load.
If you also see the security entry still pinned in System Settings → Privacy & Security, you can ignore it — once the quarantine flag is gone, Ableton will load the plugin normally.
If needed, we will move to an Apple Developer ID subscription so the plugin can be properly signed and notarized for a smoother install on macOS — Apple's process is admittedly demanding to set up.
Let me know if anything stays stuck.

Last post by DS3k - May 08, 2026, 04:44:08 AMOn an M4 running MacOS 15.7.3 when Ableton scanned the plugin it triggered the security popup but when I went to security settings and clicked "open anyway" nothing happens. Even after computer restart it's stuck in security settings and won't allow it to open.

Quand vous connectez The 3FX en USB à votre ordinateur, une différence de potentiel peut apparaître entre la masse de The 3FX et celle de votre ordi. Dans certaines configurations (alimentation à découpage du portable, hub USB, prises secteur différentes...), cette boucle de masse se traduit par un buzz audible en sortie audio. La solution est très simple : il suffit d'intercaler un isolateur USB entre l'ordinateur et The 3FX. Ce petit boîtier coupe la liaison électrique tout en laissant passer les données USB — les masses redeviennent indépendantes et le buzz disparaît instantanément.
J'ai testé trois isolateurs USB low-cost facilement disponibles sur internet. Les trois remplissent parfaitement leur rôle. Celui de droite, souvent disponible pour moins de 10 euros, fonctionne très bien. Équipé d'une puce ADUM3160, il propose un débit USB largement suffisant pour fonctionner avec The 3FX. Je trouve juste que sa connectique est de qualité médiocre. Les deux autres modèles utilisent une puce compatible USB 2.0 et offrent surtout une connectique de bien meilleure qualité. Ces modèles sont disponibles pour 20 à 40 €.
Celui du centre est mon préféré pour sa connectique et sa polyvalence.

When you connect The 3FX to your computer via USB, a potential difference may appear between The 3FX's ground and your computer's ground. In certain setups (laptop switching power supply, USB hub, different mains outlets...), this ground loop results in an audible buzz at the audio output. The fix is very simple: just insert a USB isolator between your computer and The 3FX. This small device breaks the electrical connection while still passing USB data through — the grounds become independent again and the buzz disappears instantly.
I tested three cheap units easily available online. All three do the job perfectly. The one on the right, often available for under 10 euros, works very well. Equipped with an ADUM3160 chip, it offers more than enough USB bandwidth to work with The 3FX. I just find its connectors to be of mediocre quality. The other two models use a USB 2.0–compatible chip and, above all, feature much better connectors. These models are available for 20 to 40 €.
The one in the middle is my favorite for its connectors and versatility.
