I wish the 16 illuminated buttons (8 red + 8 yellow) on the front panel could be configured to control/alter step sequences.

I am not convinced. In practice, the parts with layers (The Riverkey) and multitimbrality (8 channels, 8 voices) are the ones that are perceived as the most (too) complex of The River.
Adding an extra function, which moreover establishes a logical link between the panel and the Riverkey seems really dangerous to me.
I think it would be more convenient to program the remote control, but you won't be able to make the buttons blink. So it's not great.

Thanks for the reply, Laurent. I suppose in the end, purchasing a BeatStep, or similar, makes more sense.

Hi,

would be great to have the Motion-Sequencer without recording a (musical) note. This brings additional  "kind of BPM-Synced-LFO's" to the River. You start the Motion-Sequencer, but it plays only the motion. A feature that I really like in the Korg Minilogue XD. Wold be great to have this on the River :-)

I have just seen, this is possible, when you reset or reset&loop the dlfo. Great! I love it!

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a list of undocumented S-Key commands. Just by accident I discovered on Gearslutz that my problem with my two pots on the right side of the keyboard can be fixed with the command S and highest "b" (2stp/4stp). Since I'm slowly going through (except for CV/Gate possibilities on the River), I'm actually asking for new users of the River. Exactly this thing with the 2/4stp can be done by randomly pressing the S and just one of the undocumented commands. A list would be of great help here. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Laurent,

If it's technically possible, can you add an option on the OPTIONS or SYSTEM menu giving us the choice to bypass or not the 8 individual outputs even if cables are connected on them?
It's not practical at all to unplug all 8 jacks to the individual outputs when we want to send all 8 voices to the master output (for a global recording of The River, including FX if we use them) and then have to replug all 8 cables to the individual outputs at the back when we prefer a surgical and pure recording of each River's voice?

A Special summary screen show all outputs ;)
Nice!

Now to be able to say that for this sound, each note has to be played in 1,2,3 or 4 voices is interesting. I just simulated it with two to four identical layers. Ok for next version (2.0x). When you push Unisson, you can select full or 2,3,4 voices....
Great, I need to update my River and look at the latest firmware updates.

Sorry, not possible, it's a hardware switch on jack socket ;)

My solution is to have the cables already inserted but not entirely. They can be inserted approximately 2/3s of the way in before they will engage and remove the voice from the main mix at the sound of a "click". This way, all that’s needed is to simply reach behind and pull them partially out or insert them all the way in. It literally takes only seconds to reconfigure and can be done blind by counting cables left-to-right (meaning you don't have to see the back of The River) beginning with Voice 8 on the left.

I know a Profile Editor for Mac has already been discussed. How about an editor / librarian which can "genetically morph" between programs and randomly "mutate" them in a controlled manner, similar to the Soundtower editor / librarian software for Sequential synths?

Hello Laurent,

One bug found - when I load a multi-template using Unison with 2 voices, by default it uses all 8 voices, I have to click Unison button 2 times (off/on), then it is OK. This should be easy to fix.

One wish - configurable aftertouch attack/release time - even with soft aftertouch curve it is sometimes too steep, especially release is difficult to control, and it shouldn't be difficult to implement it (could be on S+Velocity and S+Aftertouch).

Idea for a small improvement - Fine tune knob is very sensitive and sometimes it is difficult to set it to 0, it would be nice to reduce sensitivity around 0 (or keep 0 value for some time while turning the knob).

Ok for bug and sensibility of tune button.
For aftertouch for change attack and release time, I can't understand this function ;) Aftertouch if know before release and after attack. I c'ant change release or attack with aftertouch ?

With aftertouch attack/release, I didn't mean the attack/release of VCA or VCF, but the attack/release of the applied aftertouch value - so it won't be applied and released roughly when I apply the aftertouch and when I release it (but still keep the key pressed), but rather smoothly.

Any kind of vu meter (on the LCD display)that could help feeding the machine at the right level for Chorus BBD or the internal mixer (ext input, Oscar 1,2, filter etc).
