Version 2.60 fixes a few issues and, above all, brings an entirely new tuning system: The River now learns how each voice drifts and builds a model of it. It then corrects this drift as well as possible while you play.
Update all three firmwares (key, card and panel) to version 2.60.
Then start the big new feature: Learning.
During Learning, don't touch anything
If you really have to stop it, select Learning again in the TUNE menu ("STOP LEARNING"). You will have to start over later.
If the display shows "Learning failed / Start it cold", the instrument was already too warm at the start. Try again the next day, from cold.
From now on, for everyday use, it's Fast Tune in the TUNE menu, or better, the keyboard shortcut (Wheel Shift + the third B key on the keyboard). You can use it as often as needed.
In a few weeks, if you feel your instrument is less in tune, I recommend running a new Learning.
Autotune All is no longer needed, but it does no harm.
Reset Autotune is unnecessary: Learning always starts from scratch.
I'm looking forward to your feedback and experiences. On my River the improvement is more than significant, and I hope it will be the same on yours.

Mettez à jour les trois firmwares (key, card et panel) en version 2.60.
Lancez ensuite la grande nouveauté : le Learning.
Pendant le Learning, ne touchez à rien Si vous devez vraiment l'interrompre, choisissez à nouveau Learning dans le menu TUNE (« STOP LEARNING »). Il faudra tout recommencer plus tard.
Si l'écran affiche « Learning failed / Start it cold », l'instrument était déjà trop chaud au départ. Recommencez le lendemain, à froid.
Au quotidien, utilisez désormais le Fast Tune du menu TUNE, ou mieux, son raccourci clavier (Shift Molette + 3ᵉ touche Si du clavier). Vous pouvez le faire aussi souvent que nécessaire.
Dans quelques semaines, si vous trouvez votre instrument moins juste, je vous recommande de refaire un Learning.
L'Autotune All n'est plus nécessaire, mais il ne fait pas de mal.
Le Reset Autotune est inutile : le Learning repart toujours de zéro.

- At the end, the display shows "Learning success". You're done, you won't need to do it again.

If I want the Pool to only respond to MIDI channels 2,3,4,5, is there a way to set that?
I see information about setting where incoming data gets routed, but nothing about setting specific MIDI incoming channels.
It's probably there; just don't see it in the manual or on the Pool itself.
(FWIW, I'm using USB for MIDI inputs if that matters)

In this piece, the Pool played with Osmose is the only sound source.
Synthesis types used:
- Analog oscillators
- Wavetable oscillators
- Digital FM synthesis
- Analog white noise
- Analog filter combinations
The played sounds run in parallel into a MaxPatch—a kind of processor/spectral looper—which processes the recorded material at different speeds, filters it, pitches it, and, in some cases, sends it back as long glissandos. As a result, live-played material overlaps with temporally transformed fragments of the same sound material.
Post-production is an integral part of the compositional process: it involves numerous cuts and targeted sound editing, with a particular focus on the spatial layering, depth, and movement of the sounds.
